The 20th anniversary of the Reignac Fortified House
In 2006, the clifftop castle opened its doors after several months of renovations, making it accessible to the public and offering a fully furnished site with exhibits to help visitors understand this unique place. This year, the Reignac Fortified House celebrates its 20th anniversary.
On Saturday, June 20th, we invite all visitors to come and discover the site free of charge! A unique and exceptional event. Locals and visitors from elsewhere are all welcome to celebrate with us the pleasure of preserving this extraordinary heritage for so many years.
Events at the Maison Forte de Reignac
Highlights and special events bring rhythm to the holiday periods, with seasonal themes celebrated through unique activities.
All year round: come and try The Legend of Reignac, an interactive and immersive game that makes your visit even more captivating.
For all children: a free game booklet is offered to make exploring the site both fun and educational.
For the February holidays: The Reignac Fortified House is participating in the February Gourmet event. In all the rooms of the cliffside castle, riddles await you to test your knowledge of history and gastronomy.
For the All Saints’ holidays: the site is open continuously from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with evening openings on October 31 and November 1.
From October 29 to November 2, enjoy a brand-new experience — discover the Maison Forte de Reignac in a mystical and playful atmosphere. A moment of enchantment for both children and adults.
For the Christmas holidays: the Maison Forte de Reignac is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on December 25). The Hall of Honour is beautifully decorated with a Christmas tree, a natural table runner, and a nativity scene as part of the event “Christmas Cribs of Périgord”, organized by the Visites en Périgord association.

Gourmet February at Maison Forte in Reignac
We’re participating in the “Février Gourmand” events ! La Maison Forte de Reignac is looking for a team of cooks to prepare its medieval feasts. This opportunity is open to everyone; however, to have the honor of joining our team, you’ll need to demonstrate your historical knowledge of gastronomy and taste. Games and puzzles await you in every room, giving you the chance to prove you’re the best at this activity.

During the All Saints’ Day holidays—from Saturday, October 24, to Sunday, November 1, 2026—an unusual atmosphere takes over the Maison Forte de Reignac.
As you make your way to the site, you might get the eerie feeling that you are being watched. Some may even sense a presence…
Plunged into darkness from 10 a.m. onwards, the monument transforms to offer an extraordinary tour set in a strange, mysterious world. Unique decorations, lighting effects, and carefully crafted staging immerse visitors in an atmosphere that is as fascinating as it is unsettling.
Do you enjoy games? A paper-based puzzle game is available for children, while adults can download a separate game at the reception desk.
The Legend of Reignac: the interactive game
Available all year round : La Maison Forte de Reignac invites you to play an interactive game during your visit. Far from being simple entertainment, it is a visiting companion to observe in detail the objects and rooms of the cliff castle. You will have to solve puzzles to write your own legend of the Maison Forte de Reignac!
